Notice is hereby given that the Town of Shipshewana, Indiana, by and through its Town Council, will receive sealed bids for the sale of a 1996 International Chassis Model 2654 with 2495 hours and 23,439 miles at the time of this publication. The vehicle has an International 530E diesel engine and Allison MD3560P transmission. The vehicle has a 2012 Rocket Fire poly body, 3500-gallon tank, a 500 gpm Hale pump with pump-and-roll capability. The vehicle has a 4000-gallon Fol-Da-Tank drop tank and 3 dumps: one rear and one on each side. The vehicle comes with backup camera, emergency and scene lighting, and two external SCBA compartments. The vehicle is being sold “as is,” except that lights, sirens, and decals will be removed if not sold to a fire agency.
The minimum bid is $75,000 with payment required in full upon award. Sealed bids must be sent by certified mail and marked “Tanker 27 Fire Truck Bid” on the envelope will be received at the Town Hall, 345 N. Morton St., P.O. Box 486, Shipshewana, IN until 6:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, October 24, 2024 (“Deadline”). Bids will also be received by hand delivery at the beginning of the regular meeting of the Town Council in the Town Hall on the day of the Deadline. Bids received after the Deadline will be returned unopened unless an unfair competitive advantage would not result.
